IYCE is a global, grassroots movement comprising of individuals and organisations working to promote access to quality education for all, most especially for the most disadvantaged and marginalised children in low-income communities across the world. Through an integrated approach built around youth engagement, grassroots organising, volunteering and community involvement, IYCE will identify, connect and empower young leaders and youth organisations with tools and resources to design and implement educational development projects in their communities.

As an international non-profit coalition, we work with marginalised communities across the world, building a network of partnerships with multilateral agencies, donor organisations, policy think tanks and other youth-led organisations that support the implementation of strategic intervention programs that are built around the targets of the Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Quality Education.

To create the largest global community of high profile young leaders and youth-led organisations that demonstrate innovative, effective approaches and interventions to improving educational, learning and livelihood outcomes for children and young people across the world.

To identify, connect and empower youth actors and youth led organisations with tools and resources to design, implement, evaluate and scale educational development projects in their local communities across the world.

IYCE facilitate cross-border partnerships and active knowledge sharing to activate synergy between youth actors and their organisations and also create spaces and opportunities for them within high-level education governance structures for concrete involvement in education policy-making at policy and implementation levels.

Through training, consultation and mentoring, IYCE organise, curate and provide youth actors and youth-led organisations with a wide array of skills, tools, resources, pro bono services and funding to advance progress and scale impact on their local projects and programs towards the successful implementation of SDG4.

In revolutionising youth engagement in key decision-making processes within the global education agenda, IYCE engage youth actors through systemic advocacy, grassroots organising, online and offline campaigning to capture and amplify critical youth perspectives to inform strategy and bridge policy-practice gap in education,

We work to ensure equal and quality educational opportunities, for youth and by youth. Here are our flagship programs.

Activators Without Borders

Activators Without Borders, through its Fellowship program, aims to empower young education activists and advocates with the skills and resources to address key educational development issues through a year long mentoring, training and seed funding. With its online community solutions accelerator, youth leaders meet, collaborate and exchange ideas and opportunities to build and scale disruptive innovations and interventions for education.

EduPower is a fast track capacity building and grant-making mechanism designed to support youth-led organisations working in the education space with macro grants and mini-grants to design initiatives and implement projects that scale innovation, amplify reach and advances progress on any of the Coalition’s thematic focuses.

Youth-in-Education Media Caravan

YEMC, a storytelling masterpiece is a cross-national and intercontinental media adventure with the mission to document, review, analyse and showcase how the practices of youth-led educational organisations, locally and globally, are driving innovation and impact in educational development.

Small Team, Big Firepower!

IYCE is led by an independent Global Leadership Council which is supported by a Global Advisory Board. Chaired by the Founding Executive Director and supported by two Vice Chairpersons, the Council is populated by youth actors drawn from across all dimensions of education with extensive experience and equal gender and geographical representation.
